The next place I would visit...

#8. England

I love Europe, and I one day I want to take one big trip and travel the European continent.  I would definately have to make a stop by Big Ben.  My Kindergarten teacher used to tell us about Big Ben and when she visited England.

I would also want to visit Westminster Abbey, to see where ancient church fathers were buried and the great cathedral. 

I would visit the Lake District, which is a national park.  There are activites which you can do, mostly free, all year around, found around the lake.  The lake is nicely settled beneath the mountains, and they had housing nearby the lake.  England is also known for their gardens.  There are even fields of flowers, which must be absolutely beautiful.

A trip to England would not be complete without going past Buckingham Palace.  I would love to see where the Royal Family lives, and though they probably do not allow inside tours, even seeing the outside would be amazing.

I could also visit the London Tower and the Crown of Jewels.

Towards the outskirts of city life, there is beautiful country.  A drive through England's countryside would be gorgeous, watching the old houses, fields, and buildings go by.

Though a large majoritiy of attractions can be found in London, there are also many activities in the smaller towns such as Bristol, Cambridge, Brighton, Liverpool, Chester, Dover, Durham, and Lancaster, which contain historic districts, educational centers, restaurants, quaint cities, industrial centers, and festivals.
The most recommended time to travel to england is in September, because of the wonderful weather, cheaper flights, and less tourists.

Puerto Rico

And the countdown continues!  Next I would go to...

#9. Puerto Rico

Some day I would love to travel to an island, and spend my time there enjoying the beauty of the sea, land, and adventure the Puerto Rico provides.  I would spend a day in Vieques.  Vieques is an island itself.  I would take a ferry over to the island where I would explore the two small villages on the island.  Once on Vieques, you can relax by shopping, swimming, snorkeling, and beach-hopping.

Nine miles north of Vieques, lies the island of Culebra.  Culebra is home to the famous Flamenco Beach.  While there are no shops or restaurants on the island, the beauty of the island is worth the trip.

Back on the main island, there are many attractions to see and explore.  Puerto rico offers many outdoor sports such as swimming, hiking, ziplining, scuba diving, and so much more! You can visit the old buildings and forts on the island, rainforests, view mountains, beaches, and other natural beauties.

Though Puerto Rico is one of the most popular cruise ports, I would not board a cruise ship.  I don't really have a desire to ever go on a cruise.  I would rather stay on land, and be active in the sun.

Puerto Rico has some of the best areas for surfing, and is a very popular place for surfers to "catch some waves."  Someday I would love to learn how to surf. 

I would also visit Old San Juan for a day, which is the city founded by Ponce de Leon.  It is surrounded by walls and contains within its walls forts, old churches, boutiques, museums, hotels, and restaurants.

Puerto Rico is a place that can be visited any time of the year.  The island has its best weather in the winter months, but during the spring and fall months, you can avoid the crowds and it will not be as expensive.  Another cool thing about Puerto Rico, is that if you are a U.S. citizen, you do not need a passport.  There are so many things to do on this fabulous, tropical island.

California

Many people dream of traveling across the world.  I happen to be one of those people.  There are so many places to explore, take adventures, and experience new cultures.  I love to travel!   

#10. California

Some day I would love to travel to California.  I would travel the whole state, beginning at the top of the state visiting Sequoia National Park, and Redwood State Park.  Then, I would drive to Lake Tahoe to swim in the beautiful, clear blue water which runs up against the mountain, do a little kayaking, and take a long hike.

I would then head west, crossing the Golden Gate Bridge into San Francisco.  I would take a drive through the vineyard areas.

After visiting the northern part of California I would head toward Monterey Bay in the central part of California, driving along Highway 1, cruisin' with the windows down.  I would visit Death Valley, and the Big Sur.

Heading further south, by a scenic route, I would travel to San Diego, and Los Angeles stopping at attractions such as Disneyland, SeaWorld, Universal Studios, and Hollywood.  I would lay on the beaches and bask in the sun, getting a California tanline.  I would also make a stop to admire the Joshua Trees.

Ending my vacation, I would drive through several beautiful states to get back to Pure Michigan...

Introduction

Aloha! My name is Lauren Kloosterman.  I live on the island of Maui in the state of Hawaii.  I live in a small house in the countryside which overlooks the beach.  We have no animals at my house. My father is banana farmer.  I help him on the farm to harvest our bananas.  We love to eat papayas and coconuts.  Instead of bringing our mother dandelions, we bring her hibiscus flowers.  My absolute favorite thing to do is is throw traditional Hawaiiian parties with grass skirts, leis, and tiki torches.  My boyfriend is a flame thrower at the events.

Living in Hawaii is not always a walk in the park.  Twice, we have had close calls with the volcano located 30 miles east of our home.  It is currently dormant, but 5 years ago, there was a considerable amount of activity.  At one point, we were told to evacute.  We left for a week, and returned when the officials said that thinks had calmed down.  The second time was about a year later.  We did not have to evacuate that time, but we were prepared for the worst.

Life in Hawaii is never dull, every day is beautiful.  I could never live anywhere else!  I enjoy every minute of the time that I get to spend with my family in this beautiful place.
